Bedfordshire Fire and Rescue were looking for a way to speed up the process of ensuring that all equipment was returned to an appliance following a call out. If equipment was returned to the wrong appliance they wanted the ability to be able to track it and return it to the correct unit or transfer it.

We fitted UHF RFID readers into the appliances sand EPC Gen 2 RFID Tags to the equipment so that when the call out had been completed, the firefighters could see on a mobile application that all equipment had been returned to the appliance, reducing losses and time taken stock checking and chasing equipment that may have been returned to the wrong appliance.
